We are a platform, not a staffing agency. We don't employ barbers, we don't place them, and we're not a party to any agreement you reach with a shop.

Those are general job boards where barbering is a rounding error. Everything here is built for one trade.

Shops list the actual pay structure - commission split or booth rent, with a real range - so you know the terms before an interview rather than during one. Barbers have a portfolio instead of a résumé, because your work is the qualification. And every listing is a barbershop, so you're not filtering nail salons out of your search.

For now. Barbers anywhere in New Jersey can join today - we're not restricting the barber side by county.

Shops open county by county. We open a county once enough barbers there have joined, so that a shop posting a chair actually gets applicants instead of silence. Middlesex and Somerset are open first. If your county isn't open yet you can reserve your shop now and we'll email you the day it opens.

Outside New Jersey, tell us where you cut and you'll be first to know when we open your state.

No. We verify that a shop owner controls the address they're claiming, by mailing a PIN to the shop and asking them to enter it. That confirms the listing is genuine - it is not a licence check.

We don't verify barber licences, employment history or the accuracy of anything in a profile, and we don't screen or vet the people on the platform. Both sides should confirm licensing and credentials directly with each other, exactly as you would with any hire. New Jersey licences can be checked through the State Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling.

Licensed barbers aged 18 or over, and the owners of licensed barbershops. You need to be legally able to enter an agreement to use the platform.

Yes, and permanently. No card, no trial, no paid tier later.

Shops pay for the platform; barbers are the reason shops are here. Charging you would shrink the pool every shop is hiring from, which would make the product worse for everyone.

Email, password, then your location and how long you've been cutting. That takes about two minutes and gets you browsing.

Then add the parts that get you hired: up to 10 portfolio photos, your specialties, work history, education, and whether you're actively looking. A complete profile is the single biggest factor in whether a shop reaches out - an incomplete one mostly gets skipped.

It estimates your take-home at a specific chair. Enter your average ticket, how many cuts a day you do and how many days a week you work, and it projects your earnings under that shop's actual terms - whether that's a commission split or weekly booth rent.

It's an estimate based on the numbers you enter, not a guarantee or an offer. Confirm the real terms with the shop.

Browse or use the map view. Filter by county, town, pay structure and whether the shop is actively hiring. Every shop shows its address, chair count, services and the terms on any open chair.

Yes - save shops you're interested in and compare them side by side on pay structure, location and setup. It's the same decision you'd otherwise make from memory after three separate conversations.

Your profile is public and shop owners can browse it, so treat it as visible.

You control the signal. Set your status to Actively Looking, Open to conversations or Not looking, and change it whenever you want. You are never automatically featured on our homepage or in marketing - that requires you to opt in explicitly in your settings, and it's off by default.

We know a lot of barbers are looking quietly while still behind a chair. Nothing on the platform notifies your current shop.

A permanent mark on the profiles of the barbers who joined before public launch. It stays on your profile for good and it doesn't expire or downgrade.

No. Shops hire for different reasons - some want a book, others want someone reliable they can build around. Apprentices and barbers under a year in are welcome; there's an experience range starting at less than one year precisely so newer barbers aren't filtered out.

From account settings, any time. Deletion removes your profile and portfolio from the platform. See the Privacy Policy for what's retained afterwards and for how long.

7 days free, then $49 a month - about $1.61 a day. One flat rate per shop with unlimited postings and unlimited messaging.

No placement fee, no per-hire charge, no commission. A staffing agency would charge 15-25% of first-year earnings for the same outcome. Cancel any time from your dashboard.

We built a directory of New Jersey barbershops from public business records so barbers could browse real shops from day one. An unclaimed listing shows only public information - name, address, and what's publicly available.

Claiming it gives you control of everything on it. If you'd rather it wasn't listed at all, contact us and we'll remove it.

Find your shop, click Claim, and confirm your details. We mail a verification PIN to the shop's address - it arrives in 3-5 business days. Enter it and you're live.

Mail rather than email because it proves the person claiming the shop is actually at the shop. It's the same reason banks do it, and it's what stops someone claiming a business that isn't theirs.

The role, the pay structure, and a minimum and maximum for pay. The range is required — several states now legally require pay transparency in job postings, and we apply the strictest standard everywhere rather than guessing which rules apply to you.

We never ask for or collect salary history from barbers, which is prohibited in a number of states.

A permanent mark on shops that joined before public launch, shown on your public profile. Founding partners also keep their launch pricing.

Shops that have been on the platform longer get higher placement in browse results. It rewards the shops who showed up early rather than the ones who pay the most - we don't sell placement.

A mark showing your shop has successfully hired through the platform. It signals to barbers that you actually follow through, which is the thing they're most sceptical about.

Message any barber directly from their profile, or reply to someone who applied to your chair. Conversations stay on the platform so you have a record.

Messaging is only available to verified shops. A barber will never be cold-messaged by an unverified account.

Yes, your dashboard shows views on your shop profile and on each open chair, plus how many applications each has received.

Keep a claimed profile with no open chairs. Barbers can still find you, see your setup and reach out - which is how a lot of hires actually start. Set your status to reflect that you're not actively hiring so nobody's time is wasted.

Yes. You're the employer or the party offering the chair, and you're responsible for the accuracy of your listing and for complying with employment, wage and worker-classification laws that apply to you.
